Tamba had fallen in love with Zainab when he followed his campus friend, Zakari, to his community, a suburb of Accra. The romance between Tamba and Zainab blossomed at the expense of Efua, Tamba’s campus girlfriend. Having qualified as a medical doctor, Tamba’s deep affection for Zainab was later to serve as transformation and liberation for the latter. The young man did not know that his girl was born into bondage slavery, but the stigma was never a deterrence even after knowing it later. When it came to light that Zainab had been taken away by her paternal relations to Faransi, her bosom friend, Kande, saw it as an opportunity to love Tamba – but the young doctor knew where his loyalty and passion rested. In this thriller, Escape from Bondage to Freedom, it is a little mind-boggling for the reader to see the event culminating into casualties of deaths, paralysis of the body and confusion – yet the reader is kept constantly glued to this novel at the expense of sleep.
