The most accurate and extensive studies ever commissioned by the U.S. government proves that 22% of U.S. adults who are the least literate of five literacy levels had average annual earnings that is 29% of threshold poverty earnings and the next-least-literate 27% earned only 71% of threshold poverty earnings.
